Sunday info for Sept. 5

Sunday at ESBC . . .
  • Sunday School. What does it mean to be woke? What is social justice? What do people mean by systemic racism? Where did all the gender and sex confusion come from? Why is there so much hostility surrounding these issues? How do we respond to all this? These are questions we will address in an Essentials class called “Understanding Our Times”. Pastor Steve will be teaching in the chapel at 9am.
     
  • Uncomfortable Love. Over the past two weeks, we have studied the character of God’s love. This week we will look at a facet of His love that is less familiar as we probe Hebrews 12:3-11. (sermon notes) We are streaming our services LIVE via YouTube. You can access our channel here

  • Rest for Your Soul. Are you weary? Carrying a load that is heavy and weighing you down? Jesus invites us to come to Him and find rest for your soul.   • Joyfully Confident! If someone asked you to summarize the book of Philippians, how would you respond? On Sunday morning, we’ll help you with this.   • Confident Contentment. Worry, restlessness, fear, uncertainty, and discontent have a way of creeping into our hearts and minds. How do we battle these? How can we be confidently content with so much going on in us and around us?   • From Anxiety to Peace. Worry and anxiety can easily capture our hearts and minds. How can we defeat these enemies and know the peace, rest, contentment, and joy of the Lord?
